Translucent acrylic on a digital art (originating from photograph) on canvas

30” x 60”

Description:

Will took a photograph from Baraga County in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and created a digital artwork. From there, Nina used layers of acrylic to shape and contribute her style to it, yet still reveal the original work underneath.

Abstract, experimental

I am a Detroit based artist creating work in my studio space at Hatch Art in Hamtramck, Michigan. My work spans many mediums but my primary focus has been abstract encaustic and oil painting as well as mixed medium sculpture. I have 20 years of teaching experience working with students from Pre-K to senior citizens. I currently share my love of art while teaching senior adults and adults with disabilities and other challenges. I believe that all forms of art are a response to our existence and are best expressed through exploration, play and curiosity. As a Whole Life Healing Coach, I use art as a means to help others to explore, express and expand.

Acrylic painting, spray paint

Specializing in landscape, abstract and pop art,  Vikas has a knack for creating art outside of the box by incorporating and repurposing household items, such as bubble wrap, bottle caps, and other things that might have otherwise been thrown away.

After taking a long break from painting, Vikas finally picked up a spray can again and explained that he could really feel the therapy provided in that creative moment
